I am a Denver, CO based photographer! I have lived all over the country. From Santa Monica, California to Fort Collins, Colorado, back to New York for a few years, then finally winding up in Denver. It has been quite the journey. I was born and raised in Katonah, New York. My father was a draftsman, my mother an art/dance/theater teacher for children. I have a sister, who is an incredibly talented jazz singer (check her out: https://www.instagram.com/kajanelson). I Graduated from Manhattanville College in 2008 majoring in studio art with a concentration in photography and minoring in film studies.
Iām a Canon girl! I mostly work with my Canon Rebel E0S T6i.
I am obsessed with impressionism and draw much of my inspiration from it. Vincent Van Gogh and Claude Monet are artists that I have loved my entire life. Ansel Adams, Annie Leibovitz, and Diane Arbus are some of my photographic inspiration. I also am inspired by the work of Andy Goldsworthy, his work and philosophy of seeing art in the moment are a beautiful concept to me.
Life and time continue, whether we wish they did or not. My goal is to see as much beauty the world has to offer (and share it with all of you) before my time is over.
My work has been published three times. Twice for Velvet Dust Magazine, and once for Band Wagon Magazine. In 2004, I was awarded by the Board of Trustees Scholarship, Westchester Land Trust Award for one of my photos.
I hope you enjoy my work. You can also view my Instagram page at:
